Anne Hathaway for US Vogue

Early morning (for us, anyway) pretty.

Anne Hathaway in Oscar de la Renta

US Vogue November 2010 Issue
Editorial: Happily Ever After: Anne Hathaway

Photographer: Mario Testino
Fashion Editor: Tonne Goodman

Hair: Oribe for Oribe Hair Care
Makeup
Beauty: Linda Cantello for Giorgio Armani
Produced on location by 10-4 Inc., Paris.
(Geez. These credits keep getting longer. You'd think we were talking about Ben Hur instead of 6 pages in a magazine.)

Actress-y things to say:

“When I begin a relationship, there’s that pressure to be the most, to be more comfortable and open than anyone else. When you finally realize that you can just be your own scared, fucked-up self and that you can still be sexy without trying to be, it’s such a great relief. When uncondensed you is enough.”

“I’m entering a new phase of my career where the stories are becoming a lot more specific about where the character is in her life,” Hathaway says. “People don’t always want to tell stories about women in their 30s and 40s and 50s. Obviously, some of those ages are pretty far off for me, but I know it’s coming.”

We J'ADORE Miss Hathaway. We also J'ADORE using French that way because it drives the Francophiles nuts. And they really should calm down because this editorial is for them since it's all Hepburn-y and Paris-y.

Doing Audrey for an editorial (especially with an actress in the dress instead of a model), ain't exactly the newest or freshest idea under the sun, but the power of Annie's fabulosity and her incandescent personality overcome any staleness in the concept. She REALLY knows how to wear clothes. Our only issue is the same one we always have with actresses pretending to be models: stop smiling so much. We realize you celebs are practically Pavlovian when someone points a camera at you but ask yourself these questions:

Is the carpet under my feet red?
Am I standing in front of a backdrop with a lot of corporate logos on it?
Is someone asking me who I'm wearing?

If the answer to any of these questions is "yes," then you may continue to smile unimpeded. If the answer is "no," await further instructions from some of the tense, badly dressed people around you.

We joke because we love. She looks fabuleuse. That cover's a little weird, though. It's Anne Hathaway as Eva Mendes as Audrey Hepburn.
